**ATTENTION ALL RUNNERS**
We will meet at McBride on 5/28/10
Friday will be our last club practice

Dear Parents,
Saturday June 5th is quickly approaching!  Our last club meeting is this Friday at McBride.  Morning of the race we will meet in front of Cold Stone Creamery at 6:45am.  The kids race at 7:14 am.  Coaches race at 7:00am and will return to run with the kids.  We will do a quick warm up and be off to the races.  Kids need to wear t-shoes, shorts, and club shirt.  The start is behind Cold Stone and the finish is in front of the Cox Myers Center on National.  The race provides free food and games for the kids afterwards.  I would like to get a group picture right in front of the entrance of the Myers Center.  If we can meet there after the race that would be great.  After that we can all go on our way.

 Thanks for a great year!
                          Coach Trap, Casey, and Warfield

How will students get back to their home school?

Students will walk back or jog back to their home school with a coach.

What will we do for inclement weather?

Parents will need to watch this website for running place and time.  We will update the site heading on a day to day basis.  If the weather forcast looks like rain, snow or ice,  we will meet at your child's home school site and have two separate practices.

District Practices for cold weather:
When temperatures are 32 degrees F or below and/or wind chill factor is 15 degrees F or below, there is an increased chance for hypothermia and frostbite.  Students should be encouraged to wear layered clothing and limit exposure to outdoor temperatures. This includes recess and/or physical education.

What does the running club cost?

Cost is $20.00 one time fee **Please Make Checks payable to McBride Elementary

What will your child receive?

Your child will get coaching on proper running form, drills to increase speed and endurance, proper flexibility techniques, and mild strength training.  Your child will also receive a specially designed club shirt and entry into the Cox Medical Mile Race on June 5th.
